Laurel Smith

Laurel has more than ten years of experience in marketing and selling senior housing.  She has served in community, regional and corporate roles for various senior communities and companies. Laurel is also a licensed Assisted Living Administrator and has served as an Executive Director with Brookdale Senior Living:

• Before joining Retiring by Design, Laurel was responsible for all communities in lease up mode for Holiday Retirement throughout the east coast. 
• She also served as Corporate Director of Strategic Marketing for Bell Senior Living, overseeing the marketing efforts of the company as it grew from 8 to 22 properties in 2 years and oversaw each community’s marketing strategy and collateral development. 
• Prior to working at Bell Senior Living, Laurel served as Corporate Sales Director for Kisco Senior Living. 
• Before serving in corporate roles, Laurel served as Marketing Director at 3 retirement communities in North Carolina and in Florida where she was responsible for direct sales in both rental and CCRC communities.

Laurel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also licensed as ALF Administrator in the state of North Carolina, and licensed as a Preceptor for AIT program in the state of North Carolina.
